President Beppe Marotta insists Inter feel ‘confident’ in the Champions League with Feyenoord and reveals they will ‘present a proposal’ along with Milan for a new stadium within days.
It kicks off at the De Kuip Stadium at 17.45 GMT.
The decider will be at San Siro on Tuesday March 11 and there is no away goals rule now in UEFA competition.
The Nerazzurri are dealing with an injury crisis that is almost entirely localised on the left wing, ruling out Federico Dimarco, Carlos Augusto, Matteo Darmian and Nicola Zalewski, with Yann Sommer and Hakan Calhanoglu also not 100 per cent fit.
It means Alessandro Bastoni is pushed into a more advanced role to maintain the 3-5-2 formation.
“This is the first leg of a tie that runs for at least 180 minutes, so a good start would put us in a strong position at San Siro,” Marotta told Sky Sport Italia.
“I am confident because despite missing many players, the coach has been able to put together a very competitive side.”

Inter are not just the only Italian team in the Champions League, but also the only Italian side still in three different tournaments, as they are also top of the Serie A table and will face Milan in the Coppa Italia semi-finals.
“Although there has been a change of ownership, the presence of the new shareholders has been consistent and also silent, allowing the management and coach to continue achieving the same objectives we set at the start of the season,” continued Marotta.
“We have not won anything yet, but we earned the confidence over the last few years to know that we can compete in every tournament at the highest level and it is not just the history of the club that teaches us that.
“The team and I do not want to settle for any one objective, but if the other sides do better, we will tip our hats to them.”
Mayor of Milan Beppe Sala complained today that he has still not received a written proposal from Inter and Milan for how to redevelop the San Siro area, but Marotta gave an important update.
“The two clubs will very soon put forward a proposal, as two glorious clubs like Inter and Milan have the right to play in stadium that is at the vanguard. The asset of a stadium is very important for clubs, and we Italians compared to most European sides have a big gap in that sense,” noted Marotta.
“Our majority shareholders have put particular focus on the stadium, they are able to invest huge sums of money, so I can assure that within a few days the clubs will be able to present their proposal to the local authorities.”
