Pedro Neto had his best moment in a Chelsea shirt last weekend when he slammed in late winner against Fulham to earn his team 3 massive points.
The Portugal star has been in and out of the team this season as Enzo Maresca has continued to change around his wingers trying to keep the most in form of them in the team at all times. Neto has been one of his favoured options in recent months, and he showed why with that great match-winning finish.
Maresca was asked about the winger’s progress this season after a big money move last summer, and gave an interesting answer which said a lot about the whole group of wingers at his disposal:
“I think Pedro helps us a lot, especially when Nico was injured and he played as a No.9. He is better on the right but sometimes we use him on the left because we also have Noni,” Maresca explained.
“I think overall he is doing well with us. I think he has scored four or five goals in the Premier League. Our wingers, for me, they have to score around 10 goals at the end of the season. Pedro is doing well but there is no doubt he can do better in terms of numbers.

As it stands, with league 5 games to go, none of the wingers on our books look likely to hit Maresca’s 10 goal mark. Noni Madueke has 7, but has just 2 in 2025 so far. Neto has 4, Jadon Sancho 3, Christopher Nkunku 3.
Their collective lack of scoring has meant more pressure on Nicolas Jackson and Cole Palmer, which in turn meant that when their form dried up, the team has suffered desperately.
All of our wide options must step up big time next season.
