Manchester United winger Marcus Rashford has reportedly turned down a lucrative offer from an interested club as he holds out for a dream move to Barcelona.

Rashford waiting for Barcelona transfer to materialise

Rashford is expected to leave United this summer amid frosty relations with head coach Ruben Amorim.

The pair fell out shortly after Amorim’s arrival as Erik ten Hag’s replacement, prompting United to send Rashford out on loan to Aston Villa during the January transfer window.

The forward enjoyed a renaissance at Villa, but having missed out on the Champions League, the Birmingham outfit opted not to exercise their £40m option to sign him.

Rashford has since returned to United and is available for sale. He has been linked to several clubs including AC Milan, Inter Milan, Como, Real Betis, Tottenham Hotspur, Bayern Munich, Fenerbahce and Besiktas, but Barca are believed to be his preferred transfer destination.

The 27-year-old was gunning for a switch to Camp Nou in January but the Blaugrana could not get the finances required to get a deal over the line.

A report covered by The Peoples Person relayed that Barcelona are trying to sign Rashford after their deals for Nico Williams and Luis Diaz failed to materialise. There were even claims that a meeting was held between the La Liga champions and Rashford’s camp.

More recently, Rashford followed Barcelona, Robert Lewandowski, and Pedri on social media, strongly suggesting that’s where he hopes to end up.

Now, Spanish news outlet Mundo Deportivo reveals that Rashford rebuffed an eye-watering proposal from the Saudi Pro League, with his heart set on becoming the latest addition to Hansi Flick’s ranks.

Rashford turns down Saudi offer

Mundo Deportivo state, “There are also powerful teams from Saudi Arabia that are after him [Rashford]. In fact, one of them has made him a very important offer that, according to sources close to the footballer, would be around 40 million.”

“However, Rashford has ‘passed’ on that offer because he is still waiting for Barça.”

“The Englishman has the dream of wearing the Barça shirt and knows that he is well positioned in the ranking of possible objectives for Barça.”

Mundo Deportivo note that Rashford is willing to take a wage cut to join Barcelona.

The Carrington academy graduate is also keen for a transfer to be finalised early, giving him the chance to link up with his teammates in pre-season.
