It seems to me that Marco Tilio doesn’t want to be here, Brendan Rodgers doesn’t rate him and Melbourne want him back, so for heaven’s sake just get it done…

Marco Tilio arrived in Glasgow two years ago seemingly as a highly rated prospect, and the most expensive export from the Australian A league, so naturally big things were expected from the Australian international.

Unfortunately for Marco he’s been unable to make his mark in Scotland mainly due to fitness issues and rarely being selected, cumulating in the winger spending the last 18 months on loan back in his homeland with former side Melbourne City after just a handful of appearances in the Hoops.

Marco Tilio picked up where he left off in his native land and has looked more like the player the club rated so highly two years ago.

The winger is now back at Celtic and has joined the squad on the pre-season trips to Ireland and currently Portugal where he started in the 2-3 loss to Estrela on Saturday.

It’s been reported however that Tilio is keen on a move home with Melbourne City leading the race to bring him back to the club he made his name. The fee however could be an issue, but with the player wanting to leave, as well as not being in the plans of Brendan Rodgers it’s in everyone’s best interest to strike a deal.

The players gets to go home to his former club who clearly want him, and Celtic get a fee of sorts and a player off the wage bill. For heaven’s sake just get it done.
