Manchester United winger Antony is prepared to take a 30 per cent wage cut to secure a permanent exit from the club this summer.
The Brazil international spent the second half of last season on loan at Real Betis and impressed to rebuild a reputation that had been damaged during a difficult spell at Old Trafford.
Antony arrived at Manchester United from Ajax for a fee of £82m but failed to live up to expectations. He scored just five times in 62 league appearances before being loaned to Betis in January.
In Spain, the winger scored nine times in all competitions and helped Betis to the Europa Conference League final. The Spanish side are keen to sign the player permanently and have been handed a boost by Antony’s stance on an exit.
According to the Manchester Evening News, Antony is prepared to accept wages of around £105,000-a-week, a 30% cut on his current pay at Manchester United.
United value Antony in excess of £30m and require a fee of £32.58m to avoid a loss on the winger under the Premier League’s profitability and sustainability regulations.
The 25-year-old is determined to move on from a tough spell in England and is working to facilitate an exit. He will hope a fresh start can lead him back into Brazil contention, ahead of next summer’s World Cup. The winger has won 16 caps for the national team, scoring twice.
