Adidas put ‘modern spin’ on a classic with throwback United away strip for 2025-26 season
Manchester United have revealed their new away kit for the 2025-26 season.
The strip is a modern spin on the iconic ‘snowflake’ away shirt from 1992. The design has been brought back for the third time after United paid homage to it with both their 2015-16 third kit and the 2017-18 away kit.
Kit manufacturers Adidas have updated the look, introducing colours never before worn by United.

Plum details are added through the club’s devil crest, Adidas logo and three stripes down each shoulder.
Adidas Senior Design Director Juergen Rank said: “For this season’s away jersey we wanted to reimagine one of the club’s most iconic graphics of the past, and reinterpret it for the modern day in a bold new way through an updated colour palette.

“The rich purples work in harmony with the white base and metallic detailing, and we’re excited to see it on-pitch and in the stands this season.”
The fan version of the shirt will retail for £85, while the on-field version will go for £120.

United will hope to emulate the trophy-winning form of the early 90s as they look to get back to winning ways under Ruben Amorim this season, following a nightmare season in which they recorded a worst-ever Premier League finish.
Wearing the original snowflake kit in 1992, United won the League Cup when they beat Nottingham Forest 1-0 in the final at Wembley thanks to a goal from Brian McClair.
