Manchester United are interested in Racing Genk striker Tolu Arokodare, as per reports.
It is still early days of the summer market and United already appear to be running out of options in their pursuit of a new striker, a huge priority for Ruben Amorim.
Liam Delap has picked Chelsea, Viktor Gyokeres is waiting for Arsenal, and Victor Osimhen is expected to return to Galatasaray or move to Saudi Arabia.
In recent days, United have reportedly enquired about Hugo Ekitike but Eintracht Frankfurt are likely to price him out of a move away this summer.
As such, the club’s hierarchy might have to tap into their vast scouting network to find a reasonable solution for Amorim.
According to United In Focus (via UtdXclusive), Arokodare’s name has emerged on United’s radar.
It is claimed that United’s scouts have “pushed Arokodare’s name and he is someone that Christopher Vivell and Jason Wilcox are aware of, and appreciate.”
The United head coach is keen to sign a new target man, having decided Rasmus Hojlund is not good enough to spearhead his attack.
Standing at 6’6″, the Nigerian effectively uses his massive frame to his advantage, outmuscling centre-backs to win the ball in the final third and bring his teammates into the game.
Arokodare is also a brilliant finisher, underlined by the fact he finished as the top goalscorer in the Belgian Pro League in 2024/25, with 17 goals in 30 appearances.
What makes the 24-year-old an even more attractive proposition is his price tag. It is believed Arokodare could be available for as little as £20 million. He has 24 months remaining on his contract at Genk.
However, Benfica are also thought to be interested in the striker so United may have to act quickly to have any chance of landing him this summer.
