Manchester United hold off several clubs to sign promising goalkeeper
Manchester United have signed Senne Lammens from Antwerp for £18.1m, with the 23-year-old goalkeeper agreeing a five-year contract at Old Trafford.
The acquisition aims to resolve United's goalkeeping issues, providing competition for Altay Bayindir and Andre Onana, who have been culpable for goals this season.
Lammens was targeted after he recorded more saves than any other goalkeeper in Europe's top 10 leagues last season, demonstrating strong goals prevented metrics.
The Belgian expressed his pride and excitement at joining the club, viewing it as a dream come true and an ideal place for his development.
Lammens is United's fifth summer signing, joining attackers Bryan Mbeumo, Matheus Cunha, Benjamin Sesko, and wing-back Diego Leon, while the club also saw departures on deadline day.
