United will play the winner of Hammarby vs Metalist Kharkiv on Saturday.

Manchester United thrash PSV

Manchester United were short favourites with betting sites to beat PSV on Wednesday and they duly obliged with a win.

Elisabeth Terland put fans at ease after just seven minutes with an early goal settling the nerves at 3Arena in Sweden.

Celin Bizet was quickest to react to a sharp save just after the half hour mark and United already looked out of sight before the break.

United continued their domination in the second half and it didn’t take long for Terland to grab her second of the game.

The Norway international finished the tie off with United’s fourth and her third of the game as the club advanced to their next game in the second round of Champions League qualifying.

Julia Zigiotti Olme was one of United’s standout stars on her competitive debut for the Red Devils.

Fellow Swede and United’s other signing from this summer – Fridolina Rolfo – missed the clash with fitness concerns following Euro 2025.

What next for United in the Champions League?

Manchester United don’t have long to wait until their next qualifier, with the club facing either Hammarby or Metalist Kharkiv on Saturday.

United will once again play at the neutral venue, 3Arena in Sweden so the ground will be familiar to Marc Skinner’s side.

Hammarby and Metalist Kharkiv go head to head on Wednesday night.

Once the second round is over, United will face a completely different test in qualifying (should they advance).

The third round and onwards sees teams play each other twice, with two legs contested both home and away.

Bigger teams join the new-look Champions League in the third round of qualifying though and United could face one of the biggest teams in Europe from that stage.
