Denmark lacked a cutting edge but they’ve done enough in Group C to qualify for the knockout stage of Euro 2024.

The Danes, led by Manchester United midfielder Christian Eriksen, shaded it in a 0-0 draw as Serbia threw everything at them.

Eriksen could breathe a sigh of relief as Denmark squeezed into the last-16 as he set a new national team record with his 133rd cap.

It was a quiet evening for United striker Rasmus Hojlund, who waits on his first goal at Euro 2024. He was replaced with Anderlecht’s Kasper Dolberg.

Meanwhile, Eriksen came off with a few minutes remaining.

Kasper Schmeichel was rarely threatened even though Serbia threw everything at Denmark. He had to clear plastic cups from the pitch after play paused twice as fans hurled objects.

Denmark will take Germany in the next round on Saturday night. They will need their best players – Eriksen and Hojlund – at their best to overcome the hosts.

Congratulations to Eriksen and Hojlund on reaching the last-16 of Euro 2026. Denmark progress as group runners-up following three draws from three matches.
