Manchester United are a ‘concrete option’ for in-demand Atalanta midfielder Ederson this summer.

The Brazil international is on the radar of several top sides after an excellent period with the Bergamo outfit. Ederson helped Atalanta to European success last season as the club won the Europa League.

The midfielder’s dynamic displays have caught the eye of Premier League sides, including Manchester United. Italian outlet Quotidiano Sportivo are reporting that the Red Devils are a ‘concrete option’ for the 25-year-old, who ranked second in Serie A for tackles won last season.

Ruben Amorim is desperate to improve the physical profile of his team in the summer and Ederson’s box-to-box influence is admired at Old Trafford.

Midfield appears an area in need of additions, with Christian Eriksen set to depart on a free transfer and doubts over the futures of Casemiro and Kobbie Mainoo.

United’s interest could hinge on the ability to recoup funds through sales, with Atalanta understood to value Ederson at around €60m (£52m).

Despite the club’s worst-ever Premier League campaign, Amorim’s side can still secure Champions League qualification and the associated lucrative rewards if they win the Europa League this season. United face Lyon in the second leg of their quarter-final tie on Thursday.
