It ended Manchester United 0 Newcastle United 2.
This time it took almost as long as four minutes for Newcastle United to score!
This following on from less than 30 seconds against Ipswich and under 90 seconds when beating Villa.
United 2-0 up inside 19 minutes, they could and should have scored at least twice as many goals, but we will cut them a little slack…
An excellent team performance once again.
Looking at the individuals in black and white, interesting to get an independent perspective on how this played out.
‘Whoscored ratings use data from every single Premier League match, over 200 raw statistics included in the automated calculation of a player’s rating, weighted according to their influence within the game.
Every event of importance is taken into account, with a positive or negative effect on ratings weighted in relation to its area on the pitch and its outcome.’
Now whoscored have published their independent player ratings for this Manchester United 0 Newcastle United 2 match:
As you can see, seven players who started the match received a rating of 7.0 or more.
All of them playing for United!
Alexander Isak (8.0) excellent and scored the opener, though should have scored a second!
Gordon (7.9) and Burn (7.9) just the smallest of margins behind.
Then the same back to Joelinton (7.8) who scored the second goal.
Hall (7.4), Bruno (7.3) and Trippier (7.0) also very good.
Indeed, I think a match where all of the eleven starters in black and white deserved 7.0 or more.
