Manchester City sign German international midfielder Lohmann | OneFootball

Manchester City have completed the signing of German international midfielder Sydney Lohmann on a three-year deal.

WSL Full-Time were informed of the news via an official club press release from The Cityzens this afternoon.

The 25-year-old moves to The Joie Stadium off the back of an eight-year spell with German Google Pixel Frauen-Bundesliga club Bayern Munich. Lohmann joined Bayern Munich as a youth player before working her way into the first team. Lohmann won four league titles along with the DFB-Pokal and DFB-Supercup with the club.

On the international stage, Lohmann has made 40 appearances for the German national team while she has scored six goals for her country.

After joining Manchester City, Lohmann said “I have a really positive feeling here at Manchester City. I’ve always had the thought to play abroad at some point in my career and I just had the feeling that this year was the right time to do that.

“I’m really thankful for the time at Bayern Munich and I’m happy that I gained those experiences, but I think always when you go somewhere else, a big step like that, it’s always good for your personal growth.

“I definitely want to win a title, because I can see that’s possible. I think things have probably been quite tough in the last few months or year and everyone is really hungry to do better.

“I can tell that by chatting to people and I want to be part of that. I want to contribute with the strengths I have.”

Lohmann is Manchester City’s third signing of the summer transfer window.
