Furthermore, it has also been revealed that City will pay no more than €16 million to sign Carrizo from Velez Sarsfield if the deal is completed. However, City do face competition from Arsenal, Manchester United, Southampton and Wolverhampton Wanderers to sign the talented young winger.

If Manchester City do complete the signing of Maher Carrizo this summer it is expected that he will be loaned to River Plate. It is expected that by loaning Carrizo to River Plate, it would aid his development ahead of a move to the Etihad. That is the path that Claudio Echeverri and Julian Alvarez took before moving to the Etihad.
