Yesterday, it seemed that it was only a matter of time before Manchester City and AC Milan agreed on a deal that would see Tijjani Reijnders become a Manchester City player. Now, it has been reported that a deal has been agreed upon between the two clubs. It is seemingly only a matter of time before Reijnders is officially confirmed as a City player.

David Ornstein has reported for the Athletic that Tijjani Reijnders will join Manchester City for a transfer fee of £46.3 million plus add-ons. AC Milan and City have been locked in negotiations all week, and finally, an agreement has been found as per David Ornstein’s report.

Fabrizio Romano has also reported that Tijjani Reijnders will become a Manchester City player. Furthermore, Romano reports that the total package that will see Reijnders become a City player is worth around €70 million. Fabrizio Romano further reports that Reijnders and City have already agreed personal terms. Formal steps that will see Reijnders become a City player will follow.

With his ability to make late runs and score goals, he will add a different dimension to City’s midfield. The technical and tactical ability of Reijnders is also such that he’ll immediately bring what Manchester City so desperately needed throughout the 24/25 season.

When you add Tijjani Reijnders to Manchester City’s current midfield options, that’s where the excitement lies. A midfield pairing of Rodri and Reijnders has tremendous technical ability, and it also has athleticism and power in the centre of the pitch. At times last season, that was sorely lacking in City’s play. If Nico, Phil Foden, Ilkay Gundogan, Mateo Kovacic, or Bernardo Silva play alongside them or a player like Rayan Cherki, for example, suddenly Manchester City’s midfield is a formidable proposition.
