Pedri has well and truly established himself as the best midfielder in the world at the moment and has been leading Barcelona’s charge for trophies across all fronts this season.

The 22-year-old has been dishing out one masterclass after the other under Hansi Flick and, as such, has been tipped for the Ballon d’Or this year.

At the same time, though, Pedri’s performances have led to him attracting interest from other elite clubs across Europe.

Manchester City want Pedri to replace Kevin De Bruyne

Indeed, as reported by MARCA, Manchester City are considering a €100 million bid for Barcelona midfielder Pedri as a long-term replacement for Kevin De Bruyne.

The Belgian midfield superstar’s contract expires at the end of the season and a renewal is not in sight. As such, Pep Guardiola’s side are already scouring the market for potential replacements, with Pedri emerging as an option.

And, Manchester City intend to test Barcelona’s resolve by tabling an offer worth €100 million for the Spanish international.

However, Barcelona officials have no knowledge of any formal interest from Man City and maintain that Pedri is not for sale.

While the club is not surprised by the widespread admiration for Pedri, given his exceptional talent, they remain relaxed about his future.

Barcelona acknowledge that Europe’s elite clubs would naturally be interested in signing him, considering his impact both for club and country.

Despite the ongoing speculation, Barça insist that Pedri is ‘untouchable’. The 22-year-old has been an integral part of Flick’s squad, featuring in 44 out of 45 matches this season, missing only one fixture – against Valencia due to illness.

The midfield superstar also committed his future to the Catalan club by signing a new contract until 2030 earlier this year.

So the idea of a potential departure is something that neither Barcelona nor Pedri are entertaining.
