In a recent report, Fichajes claimed that Manchester City are ready to launch a move for Real Madrid winger Rodrygo this summer. It has been stated that the Mancunian giants are prepared to pay €80m plus €20m in add-ons to land the Brazilian wide player in this transfer window.
Rodrygo was a reliable performer for Los Blancos in the previous campaign when he put in a string of impressive displays in the final third. The Brazilian talent participated in 54 matches for Real Madrid last season, scoring 14 goals and picking up 11 assists in various competitions.
The 24-year-old was a real menace in the opposition half as he averaged 2.52 shots per 90 minutes in La Liga. He kept 37% of his attempts on target. Rodrygo was even tidy when distributing the ball after making 85.9% of his attempted passes in the top tier of Spanish football (stats via fbref.com).
Rodrygo’s current contract at the Santiago Bernabeu Stadium will run out in the summer of 2028. Therefore, Man City would have to make a big offer if they want to lure him to the Etihad Stadium in this transfer period.

Rodrygo excels at finding some space for himself to get a few strikes in at goal. He has got the vision to engineer a few promising chances for his teammates in the final third and is a good dribbler with the ball at his feet.
The Brazilian talent is a consistent performer in front of the opponent’s goal. He mainly operates as a right-winger but can also serve as a left-sided wide player or as a centre-forward if asked to do so.
Rodrygo would no doubt enhance the quality of Manchester City head coach Pep Guardiola’s frontline. He could go on to form a productive partnership with Erling Haaland and Omar Marmoush at the Mancunian club.
At 24, Rodrygo has his peak years ahead of him, which makes him a dream option for the Premier League giants to consider in this transfer window. However, only time will tell whether he can cope with the physical side and the high intensity of English football.
