Jeglertz has more than 20 years of coaching experience at the top level. He guided Swedish club Umeå IK to the old UEFA Women’s Cup in 2004 while he has twice been crowned OBOS Damallsvenskan Coach of the Year.

On the international stage, Jeglertz has held national team head coach roles with both Finland and Denmark. He has been in his current role for the last two years.

After being unveiled as Manchester City’s new boss, Jeglertz said “Manchester City is one of the biggest clubs in the world. There is so much talent in this group. One of my key things is to continue the job that’s been done and take it to the next level.

“We would like to win, develop players and want the players every day to become better. I will do everything I can to take this to the next level and make sure we can play attractive and winning football.”

Jeglertz replaces former Manchester City boss Gareth Taylor who was sacked in March.
