A crucial summer transfer window has come into view for Manchester City. Now that the 24/25 season has been completed, City will begin to build their squad for next season and beyond. The futures of several of Manchester City’s senior players are in doubt ahead of the summer. But while the question of who will leave Manchester City will be answered in time, it appears that City are moving quickly to tie up a deal for AC Milan midfielder Tijjani Reijnders. Two new reports give the impression that City are moving quickly to tie up a deal for the Dutch international.
Jack Gaughan has reported for the Daily Mail that Manchester City are ramping up their pursuit of Tijjani Reijnders. Furthermore, Gaughan reports that it may cost City more than £55 million to sign Reijnders. Gaughan’s report implies that City are hopeful of signing Tijjani Reijnders before they jet off for the FIFA Club World Cup in under three weeks.
To follow on from Jack Gaughan’s report, Rob Dawson has reported for ESPN that Manchester City’s negotiations with AC Milan over a deal that will see Tijjani Reijnders sign for Manchester City are at an advanced stage.
Based on today’s news reports, it seems that Manchester City’s bid to sign Tijjani Reijnders is progressing. The Dutch international would be a quality addition to Pep Guardiola’s squad. He’d immediately fill one hole in the Manchester City squad, and the sooner City can bring him in, the better. If City can sign Reijnders before the Club World Cup he will have an early opportunity to adjust to life in Pep Guardiola’s squad. That would be of great benefit to Manchester City and Reijnders. Now it remains to be seen if City can agree a deal with AC Milan promptly.
But it does seem that it could be a matter of time before a deal between AC Milan and Manchester City over a move for Tijjani Reijnders to the Etihad is agreed. Today’s new reports do give that impression. Reijnders’ potential move to City does seem that it is coming together quickly. That is good news ahead of a crucial transfer window for Manchester City. It also illustrates that the City hierarchy aren’t wasting any time this summer.
