Manchester United remain interested in recruiting the services of RB Leipzig attacking midfielder Dani Olmo this summer, according to Spanish outlet Mundo Deportivo.

The Red Devils have had the Spain international on their radar for a while, but they will be facing competition from Bayern Munich, Barcelona and Manchester City for him if they decide to table a bid.

The La Liga club have already offered €40 million and €20m in add-ons for Olmo, but Leipzig have rejected it as they want €60m without add-ons for their star player.

The ‘outstanding 26-year-old shone for his country as they won the European Championship some two weeks ago, scoring thrice and weighing in with two assists in six appearances – three of which were as a substitute.

Man United are looking to further bolster their attacking ranks following the addition of the Netherlands international forward Joshua Zirkzee, and the versatile Olmo meets the criteria they want in a player in the position as he can play as a central midfielder, behind the striker, as a striker and on the right wing.

Signing such a player for just €60m is a steal given his huge quality and massive experience, and the Red Devils should not hesitate to pull out all the stops in their attempt to land him.

The Spaniard ended last term with eight goals and five assists in 25 appearances and has returned similar numbers in front of goal since 2016-17.

Olmo can help greatly improve the fortunes of the Red Devils on the pitch, but whether they can attract him right now remains to be seen.

The likes of Bayern, Barca and Man City are all playing in the Champions League next season and are regular challengers for the title in their respective leagues, making the prospects of joining any of them ahead of Man United more appealing.
