Paris Saint-Germain needs to strengthen its center-back position this summer. Over the past few months, several names have been circulating in the rumor mill, with the latest being Bayer Leverkusen’s Edmond Tapsoba.

LOSC Lille’s Leny Yoro appeared to be PSG’s primary target, but the teenager is keen on joining Real Madrid. Consequently, PSG must explore other options to strengthen its central defense.

Transfer window specialist Fabrizio Romano provided the latest regarding the 25-year-old, who is under contract with the German side until 2028. Nonetheless, Romano notes that the file has gone cold recently as the Parisians look at various files to improve their defense.

“Edmond Tapsoba is on the list of targets for PSG this summer, alongside players like Lutsharel Geertruida of Feyenoord,” Romano told CaughtOffside.

“However, it’s gone a bit quiet recently because Tapsoba is very expensive and Bayer Leverkusen want to keep him, while Geertruida can leave for a cheaper price and so could be attractive for PSG, as they already started contract talks with his agents.”

Recently, it was reported that Manchester United are interested in Everton center-back Jarrad Branthwaite. However, they are not willing to be pressured into a quick deal if Everton seek one. Another one of their potential targets is Tapsoba, indicating that the player has attracted attention from several top clubs.
