Sporting Lisbon striker Viktor Gyökeres was the subject of rumor this past summer and remains an attacking player on various teams’ radars to bolster their squads.
In September, CaughtOffside reported that Chelsea, Tottenham Hotspur, and Paris Saint-Germain are vying for the Swedish standout. However, despite the rumors, especially those in the summer, Gyökeres remained with the Portuguese giants.
The player’s commitment to playing at Sporting is now a topic in the Portuguese media. Sporting’s players aren’t too pleased about Ruben Amorim’s appointment as the new Manchester United manager.

Portuguese outlet O Jogo reports that the Swede strongly ‘questioned’ his manager during an awkward meeting at the club’s training complex in Alcochete this week. As a result, Amorim’s departure is likely to place grave question marks over the future of Gyokeres at Estadio Jose Alvalade.
Florian Plettenberg from Sky Sports Germany reported last month that Gyökeres has a release clause of €100 million. Still, an agreement is in place for him to leave Sporting next summer for between €60 million and €70 million. While a winter transfer isn’t on the horizon, a move in the summer seems quite likely.
According to the CaughtOffside report, Tottenham are currently leading the race for Gyökeres, while Chelsea views him as a backup option. Chelsea plan to make another push for Victor Osimhen in January or next summer.
PSG are also monitoring Gyökeres, thanks to its strong relationship with Sporting. However, CaughtOffside mentions that any potential transfer will depend on whether the club decides to part ways with Gonçalo Ramos or Randal Kolo Muani after this season, a situation that remains in the air.
