According to Tutte Juve, Juventus are keen to sign Tyrell Malacia on loan for the remainder of the 2024/25 season.

Danilo is out of favour at the Italian club, and Malacia is on their shortlist to replace him. They see him as a ‘last minute opportunity’.

Loan move could be useful

The 25-year-old was the first signing of the Erik ten Hag era.

The left-back made a promising start to his tenure at United and seemed poised to provide strong competition for Luke Shaw.

However, a knee injury derailed his progress and ruled him out of the entire 2023/24 campaign.

He returned to action after more than 18 months out and has made five senior appearances for the club this season.

Amorim has used him with caution as he has spent a significant period on the sidelines.

However, Malacia has looked like a shadow of the player he was before his injury.

The £12 million-rated ace was short of pace against Bodo/Glimt when their attacker ran past him with ease to score the second goal.

It is natural for any player to take some time after a lengthy absence.

A loan move to Juventus could prove to be beneficial for Malacia and United. He could regain his sharpness and confidence in Serie A.

Regardless of what happens with Malacia, United must prioritise strengthening their left wing-back position.

They have to utilise the January transfer window to bolster the squad but must sell first to boost their transfer kitty.
