Manchester United are reportedly keen to add some much-needed flair to the squad, thus identifying Brahim Diaz as the best man for the job.

With almost ten days left in the January transfer session, the Red Devils must accelerate their operations on various fronts. The club is on the verge of loaning out Antony to Real Betis, while Alejandro Garnacho is heavily linked with a move to Napoli, and Marcus Rashford’s future remains anyone’s guess.

But while a few of Ruben Amorim’s attacking options are heading towards the exit door, one would expect the management to reallocate whatever sums they are to collect on new additions, especially amidst the stark lack of creativity in the final third, something that the manager has already rued following some of the club’s barren displays.

So according to Fichajes.net, Man Utd have decided to revive their interest in Real Madrid’s Diaz whom they consider an ideal fit for Amorim’s project. The 25-year-old is a natural playmaker who can play as an attacking midfielder or a winger in the manager’s favourite 3-4-2-1 system, thus giving the Portuguese further options in this role in addition to Amad Diallo and Bruno Fernandes.

The latter could be pushed back to the deeper role in this case, allowing him to pull the strings in the middle of the park alongside a holding midfielder (mainly Manuel Ugarte).

The Spanish Moroccan star is highly admired by Carlo Ancelotti, but he’s being mostly deployed as a second-half substitute due to the great competition for starting roles in Los Blancos’ final third, with the likes of Kylian Mbappe, Jude Bellingham, Vinicius, Rodrygo, Arda Guler and Endryk all vying for starting roles.

Brahim’s contract with the reigning European champions is valid until June 2027, and Transfermarkt estimates his value at €35 million.
