Manchester United winger Antony has claimed that he is enjoying the greatest moments of his career at Real Betis.

The winger joined the Red Devils in the summer of 2022 for an eye-watering £86 million from Ajax.

Antony enjoyed some good moments in his first season, including scoring the winner against FC Barcelona in the Europa League in February 2023.

Nonetheless, his second and third season at the club were characterised by ineffectiveness and a seeming inability to adapt to the rigours of Premier League football.

After few first team opportunities he left United in January for Real Betis, where he has completely transformed his career trajectory.

The Brazil international has been in outstanding form for los Verdiblancos, providing seven goals and four assists since his arrival in Andalusia.

Tonight he is preparing to help his side reach the final of the Conference League and before the match gave an interview to Spanish paper AS.

Commenting on his transfer to date he claimed, “I’m experiencing the best moments of my life. When I arrived at Betis, I wanted to make history, to fight for these things, and I’m very happy to be playing in a semi-final in a Betis shirt. I’m physically and mentally prepared for the match.”

He admitted that he had some very good times at Ajax but he believes he has never been better shape than he currently is in the south of Spain.

Antony also credited his coach at Betis, Manuel Pellegrini, and stated that “I’m very grateful for the trust and the opportunity” given to him by the former Manchester City boss.

Finally he was asked about his future beyond the rest of the season and he commented, “I don’t know what will happen at the end of the season, but all I know is that I’m very happy here.”

It has been reported that Real Betis are in negotiations to extend their loan deal but the Red Devils would certainly prefer a permanent sale.

Atletico Madrid and Juventus have both recently been credited with an interest in the Brazilian star and United will hope a bidding war can break out as a result of his fine form.
