Manchester United return to European action this evening as they host Norwegian outfit Bodo/Glimt.
Tonight’s fixture will be Ruben Amorim’s first game in charge at Old Trafford. The Portuguese tactician commenced his tenure with a 1-1 draw away to Ipswich Town and he will be hungry for his first victory as United boss.
Bodo/Glimt currently sit three places above the Red Devils in the Europa League table having collected seven points, one more than United.
Amorim has been handed a huge lift with central defenders Lisandro Martinez and Harry Maguire back in training. His defensive options have been reinforced further with the availability of Luke Shaw and Tyrell Malacia following their respective injury layoffs.
Manchester United: WDWWD
The Red Devils may be unbeaten in Europe this campaign, but find themselves in 15th position in the Europa League standings.
Amorim’s side have drawn three of their four games, but they did triumph in their last European contest as they comfortably swept aside PAOK.
A disappointing home draw with FC Twente on opening night preceded two hard-fought stalemates away to Porto and Fenerbahce.
Following the dismissal of Erik ten Hag, United have gone unbeaten in their last five games in all competitions following a draw at Ipswich Town at the weekend.
Bodo/Glimt: LDLDW
The three-time Norwegian league champions have dealt with their European challenge impressively thus far and lie just two points out of the automatic qualification places.
They have dispatched two Portuguese opponents by beating Braga away from home and securing a historic 3-2 win over Porto.
However, since then they played out a goalless stalemate with Union St. Gilloise and suffered a dispiriting home defeat to Qarabag.
Recently, Kjetil Knutsen’s side have struggled. Their 2-0 win at Odd over the weekend was only their second victory in eight games.
Despite a glamour tie at Manchester United, Bodo/Glimt could have one eye on the weekend. The Norwegian side conclude their Eliteserien campaign home to Lillestrom and need to win to be sure of the title.
Despite topping the table, Bodo/Glimt have Brann breathing down their necks. Only a point separates the two teams going into the final game.
