Man City have reportedly received a transfer bid for Ederson as the goalkeeper considers his future at the club.
The Brazilian’s place in the first team is under threat after the club secured the signing of James Trafford from Burnley this summer, while he also faces competition from Stefan Ortega.
Ederson has been linked with Galatasaray and clubs in Saudi Arabia, though he has previously rubbished speculation about a move as “99 per cent fake news”.
However, the shot stopper is now “considering his Manchester City future” and “weighing up a transfer” just as the Premier League campaign kicks off, according to The Guardian.
Pep Guardiola is “reluctant” to let Ederson go, unless the player informs him of his intention to leave and a “suitable offer” is received.
Galatasaray have made a “first official bid” for the goalkeeper, in the region of €10 million (£8.63m), reports Fabrizio Romano. Man City, though, are demanding a “higher fee”.
Asked on Friday whether Ederson would travel to Molineux for Saturday’s Premier League opener against Wolves, Guardiola responded: “Apparently, yeah.”
He added: “Ederson didn’t come to me and said he wanted to leave or he has an offer. All the players here are our players and I want them. What’s going to happen in three weeks [before the window closes], nobody knows.”
Ederson’s exit would open the door to Gianluigi Donnarumma’s potential arrival. The Italy international is set to leave PSG after manager Luis Enrique signed Lucas Chevalier from Lille.
Donnarumma, who was left out of the squad for Wednesday’s penalty shootout win over Tottenham Hotspur in the UEFA Super Cup, effectively confirmed his departure earlier this week.
His agent, Enzo Raiola, has said that a transfer to a Premier League club would be the “right step” for his career.
“Premier League is the right step for Gigio in my view, we’re working on it,” he said.
“There are zero talks with Italian clubs. We are still shocked by PSG behaviour with Gigio. There’s zero respect by the club after four years together. We will consider the situation also with our legal team. We will consider solutions now, maybe in Premier League there will be clubs able to pay what’s needed.
“Paris Saint-Germain are asking for big money. They talk about respect, but it’s only about the money.”
