Carlos Augusto and Yann Bisseck will be in the Inter Milan starting eleven for this afternoon’s Serie A clash with Hellas Verona.
This according to today’s print edition of Milan-based newspaper Gazzetta dello Sport, via FCInterNews.
Inter coach Simone Inzaghi is very much thinking about squad rotation today.
The Nerazzurri make their return from the international break. Their first match back is away to Verona in Serie A.
But this will only be the first in a long sequence of important matches for Inter, between Serie A, the Champions League, and the Coppa Italia.
The Nerazzurri will more or less be playing twice per week from here on out.
Therefore, Inzaghi is well aware of the fact that he cannot run key players into the ground.
The Inter coach must manage the minutes and fitness of the players in his squad. Otherwise, fatigue or even injury would be risks for the Inter players.
The selection decision that could raise the most eyebrows from Inzaghi today will likely come in attack.
Reportedly, the Inter coach is ready to hand Joaquin Correa his first start of the season. Otherwise, it would be Marko Arnautovic who starts.
However, these will not be the only notable examples of squad rotation from Inzaghi.
In defense, the Gazzetta reports, Yann Bisseck is likely to get the nod over Benjamin Pavard.
Then, on the left flank, the newspaper predicts, Federico Dimarco will drop out of the starting eleven.
Instead, it will be Carlos Augusto who begins the match at left-wingback.
The Brazilian is just coming back from a thigh strain.
Meanwhile, in midfield Kristjan Asllani will start at the base of Inter’s trio.
The Albanian will fill in for Hakan Calhanoglu, who has stayed behind in Milan to recover after an injury scare during the international break with Turkey.
