Maccabi Haifa reach verbal agreement with Pierre Cornud | OneFootball

According to a report from Foot Mercato, Maccabi Haifa have reached a verbal agreement with AS Saint-Étienne fullback Pierre Cornud (28), who has been the target of several clubs outside of his native France.

The French outlet explains that Cornud has been in the sights of Maccabi Tel Aviv and Greek club PAOK. However, it appears as if the fullback’s former team, Macabi Haifa (where he spent two seasons, one on loan), have won the race for his signature and have offered him a three-year contract.

Maccabi Haifa and Saint-Étienne have been in frequent contact this summer, with the two agreeing on a deal for Mahmoud Jaber. The Israeli international became Saint-Étienne’s first signing of the summer.

Saint-Étienne are looking to plot a course back into the top flight of French football after they were relegated back down to Ligue 2 at the end of the 2024/25 campaign.
