Kylian Mbappé will reportedly leave Paris Saint-Germain when his contract expires in June. Many expect the Frenchman to join Real Madrid as a free agent and even if they lose their superstar, manager Luis Enrique isn’t worried.

If a team loses a player of Mbappé’s caliber, the question surrounding the situation is whether they can withstand the loss. With Enrique and sporting advisor Luis Campos at the helm, the Parisians have the right people to lead them in the post-Mbappé era.

On Friday, the 53-year-old tactician spoke to reporters and noted that he expects the team to get better year after year. While he doesn’t mention replacing the 2018 FIFA World Cup winner, the comments likely imply that.

“PSG has changed completely since last season—its identity, its objectives, the staff, the players,” Enrique told reporters (h/t Paris Fans). “There is a construction cycle. We are only in the first ten months.

“We will see if we succeed or not. But we continue to build. The idea is that we will be better again next season. If that doesn’t happen, it’s not the end of everything, not necessarily a failure.”

Regarding Mbappé and Real Madrid, Diario AS recently reported that the PSG star will receive an annual wage of around €15 million net, with 80 percent of his image rights, which could see his annual earnings nearly double.
