PSG coach Luis Enrique is confident that Gigio Donnarumma will ‘handle the pressure well’ in the Champions League Final against Inter as the Italy captain’s improvement ‘has been clear’ this season.
Luis Enrique and Donnarumma’s PSG are preparing for the Champions League Final against Inter at the Allianz Arena in Munich on May 31.
The Ligue 1 giants held a media day at their training ground on Wednesday when their coach replied to questions about Donnarumma.
“Gigio is an experienced player. He will know how to handle pressure well,” Luis Enrique said via TMW.
“Obviously, he’ll be playing against a team that was a part of his football career. Inter will play their second final in three years, which means they play very well. They know exactly what to do with the ball. They are dynamic with quality players, and they know how to defend high and deep. We’re talking about a complete team led by a top-level coach.”

Donnarumma is a former Milan star who played 11 Serie A matches against the Nerazzurri, winning just twice and losing six times.
The Italy national team captain was also on the verge of joining the Nerazzurri youth sector as a kid, but he ultimately joined Milan where he made his senior debut in 2015 under Sinisa Mihajlovic, at the ageof 16 years and eight months.
“We’ve always tried to help the players improve. I think Donnarumma’s improvement has been clear,” continued Luis Enrique.
“He has more confidence in himself now, and we’ve been able to see a very good version of him. It’s the same thing we saw when he was Italy’s goalkeeper against Spain. It’s the same feeling I had watching Gigio back then.”
Donnarumma and PSG have already won the Ligue 1 title this season, while Inter still have a chance to overtake leaders Napoli on the final matchday on Friday.
