Loftus-Cheek expects ‘very fast’ match vs. Red Star and admits Milan have ‘great opportunity’ | OneFootball

AC Milan midfielder Ruben Loftus-Cheek is expecting a fast-paced game against Red Star at San Siro, a team who will give everything.

Milan will face a Red Star team that are in brilliant form and should be full of confidence given they have won 16 of their 17 league games so far this season (drawing the other).

The Serbians have scored 55 goals and allowed nine, sitting 15 points ahead of their rivals Partizan in second, and they won their most recent European game 5-1 against Stuttgart.

Nonetheless, they have already learned the hard way what a trip to San Siro can do, given they were beaten 4-0 by Inter earlier in the phase.

Loftus-Cheek spoke to Sky Italia in the build-up to the game after being named as Christian Pulisic’s replacement in the starting line-up, and his comments were relayed by MilanNews.

“What kind of match do I expect? A very fast match. Like every team that comes to San Siro against Milan, I expect them to give something more, they want to win,” he said.

“This is a great opportunity for which we must be ready, I think that with this formula in the Champions League we feel confident and ready to go.”
