Liverpool have reportedly struck another world-record agreement for a transfer. Though, this one is a little different.

Liverpool shocked everyone this summer by shattering their transfer record to sign Florian Wirtz from Bayer Leverkusen. The German playmaker was thought to be destined for Bayern Munich or maybe Manchester City.

Instead, Liverpool made the first £100m transfer in their history. Wirtz signed in a deal that could reach £117m through add-ons - an English record, potentially.

But technically, that's not even the only record-breaking transfer to have gone through. Liverpool paid the most they've ever spent on a full-back by signing Jeremie Frimpong, also from Bayer Leverkusen.

That cost them just short of £30m. Then they broke that record again by signing Milos Kerkez from Bournemouth for £45m.

The Reds have not been shy to strike major transfers this summer, in other words. And even the women's team is now in on the act - though, in the other direction.

Olivia Smith to join Arsenal

Several outlets, including the BBC, report that Olivia Smith will join Arsenal after Liverpool accepted an offer for the Canadian. The offer sits at £1m - a world-record fee.

Smith signed for Liverpool a year ago, costing £200k from Sporting CP. She was only a teenager then, turning 20 last August.

But she had an incredible debut campaign, winning both Liverpool’s Young Player of the Year and Player’s Player of the Year. It’s a real shame, in all honesty, that this season will be one-and-done.
