The Athletic report today that Liverpool have rejected an approach worth around £15 million from Crystal Palace for Ben Doak (19).
The Scotland international is currently on loan at Championship side Middlesbrough, and has contributed seven goals this season (two goals, five assists) in 20 games. Doak is on loan at Michael Carrick’s side for the remainder of the season and is expected to return to Liverpool, where he should then be integrated into the first team and work as an understudy to Mohamed Salah.
Crystal Palace manager Oliver Glasner confirmed in his press conference that he would like to sign two players this season, while hinting that they’ve identified the players.
“We want to sign two players,” said Glasner. “The profiles are clear. Players are fixed. There is a clear commitment to sign two players.”
As reported via our colleagues at Get French Football News, Palace are also pushing to sign Lyon’s Maxence Caqueret, while they’ve also had a €15m bid for El Hadji Malick Diouf rejected by Slavia Prague.
