Paris Saint-Germain have been keeping an eye on Bayern Munich midfielder Joshua Kimmich for months, even coming close to signing him last summer. However, Bayern Munich remains confident in their efforts to extend the veteran’s contract.
Barcelona are reportedly eyeing both Kimmich and Bayer Leverkusen defender Jonathan Tah as they aim to strengthen their midfield and defense for the 2025 season.
According to journalists Christian Falk and Tobi Altschäffl, Bayern Munich have given up on convincing Kimmich to take a pay cut from his current €20 million annual salary.
With his contract expiring next year and growing interest from top clubs, it now seems unlikely that Kimmich will agree to a reduced deal.

On Saturday, TEAMtalk reported, citing sources, that Liverpool have alternative targets in mind and aren’t fully focused on Bayern Munich’s Joshua Kimmich, who could end up at an Italian club.
The report also claims that talks between Bayern Munich and Kimmich over a new deal aren’t progressing because Kimmich doesn’t feel valued in the club’s plans.
While Bayern would prefer to extend Kimmich’s contract and avoid losing him on a free transfer at the end of the season, negotiations are moving slowly.
According to TEAMtalk, Liverpool and Manchester City want to sign Kimmich during the summer transfer window. However, neither club is making him their top priority, with both looking into other options.
