Despite signing four new players, Real Madrid are still in the market for more reinforcements while there will be some departures as well.

Veterans Luka Modric and Lucas Vazquez have left after the expiry of their contracts while several youngsters such as Victor Munoz, Rafel Obrador, Yusi, and Marvel, have also moved on from the club.

More exits are not ruled out, with Rodrygo the biggest name on the list of players likely to leave Real Madrid this summer.

Arsenal had shown a strong interest but have decided to close the doors on a move for the Brazilian.

But their Premier League rivals Liverpool have emerged as a key suitor for the 24-year-old attacker.

Preliminary talks held

In fact, Alex Crook of talkSPORT reports that Liverpool and Real Madrid have already held preliminary talks over a possible move for Rodrygo this summer.

The Reds have been one of the most active teams in the market, having roped in players like Florian Wirtz, Jeremie Frimpong, and Milos Kerkez.

A move for Hugo Ekitike is also in the works, but Arne Slot’s men are on the lookout for more attacking reinforcements, especially with question marks lingering over the future of Luis Diaz.

As such, Rodrygo has emerged as a target for the reigning English champions and it appears that there have been some discussions between them and Real Madrid over a potential transfer.

Real Madrid, for their part, are not pushing Rodrygo to leave and will leave the final decision up to the player himself.

In case he opts to move on, the Merengues will not let him go for cheap and are expected to demand a transfer fee of around €100 million for the attacker.
