West Ham United v Tottenham Hotspur

Scorers: Kehrer (OG) 34′.

Spurs thought they had been given a penalty in the 11th minute when Harry Kane headed the ball against the hand of Aaron Cresswell.

A spot-kick had initially been awarded before the referee overruled the decision after a lengthy VAR check.

Tottenham broke the deadlock in the 34rd-minute after a blistering counter attack which eventually led to Kane sweeping the ball across goal where it was turned in by West Ham defender Thilo Kehrer.

Manchester City v Nottingham Forest

Scorers: Haaland 12′, 23′, 38′, Cancelo 50′, Álvarez 65′.

Erling Haaland netted a hat-trick in the win over Crystal Palace on Saturday, and he only went and did it again in the first half tonight.

The Norwegian striker was picked out in the six-yard box by Phil Foden’s lofted ball and got ahead of his defender to poke in at Dean Henderson’s near-post to give City the lead.

Foden was involved for his second, but this time it was a block by Neco Williams that fell into the path of the City striker to tap in.

John Stones then leapt highest from a corner to direct the ball across goal for the 22-year-old to nod in and complete his second hat-trick in four days.

João Cancelo made it four at the start of the second half, pinging the ball in from the edge of the box into the top corner.

Julian Álvarez bagged his first Premier League goal on his first start midway through the second half, slotting between Henderson’s legs after Riyad Mahrez’s had played the ball into his path.

Arsenal v Aston Villa

Scorers: Jesus 31′.

Arsenal had the better of the opening stages and finally made the breakthrough just after the half hour mark.

Former Gunners goalkeeper Emí Martínez spilled a cross into the path of Gabriel Jesus who tapped into the empty net.
