After months of uncertainty over domestic broadcasting rights, the Ligue de Football Professionnel (LFP) has officially announced the creation of its own digital platform to stream Ligue 1 matches from the 2025-2026 season. With no broadcaster matching the €1 billion-per-season asking price during recent rights auctions, the Ligue de Football Professionnel (LFP) has opted to go direct-to-consumer. The new OTT service, run by the LFP’s in-house media branch and backed by private equity firm CVC, will become the primary destination to watch the French top flight next season. The new service will show eight out of nine Ligue 1 games per matchday exclusively, from Friday to Sunday. The only fixture not included will be the Saturday 17:00 (CET) slot, which remains with BeIN Sports as part of an existing €80m/year deal. Among the eight exclusive matches will be the ten biggest fixtures of the season, according to the LFP.

The subscription is set to be priced at €14.99 per month. That’s notably cheaper than DAZN’s Ligue 1 package this past season, which initially launched at €30.00 per month before being revised downwards during the campaign. While reports in recent weeks suggested the LFP was considering a €9.99 youth offer for under-26s, this has not been confirmed in the initial announcement.GFFN | George Boxall
