A poor Barcelona side end up suffering defeat to Leganes at the Montjuic Stadium. After a frustrating performance from several key players, La Blaugrana could not do anything in this game. Ultimately, it is a pathetic display from Barcelona ahead of a crucial game against Atletico Madrid.
The final score was 1-0 in favor of Leganes and there were several players who could be blamed for this result. Two of the most apparent ones are none other than Robert Lewandowski and Dani Olmo, who were simply shameful in this game. Barcelona now give Real Madrid and Atletico Madrid yet another chance to take over.
Here are the player ratings for Barcelona.
Player Ratings:
Inaki Pena: 6.5
Basically did nothing wrong the entire game and even his distribution was solid. Unfortunately, could not do much about the goal he conceded.
Jules Kounde: 7.0
The Frenchman did a lot of running and created some great opportunities for his teammates as well while also linking up with Lamine Yamal. Unfortunately, could not finish off what was one of the clearest chances of the game for Barcelona.
Eric Garcia: 6.0
Did not do much wrong but was far too early and impatient at times. However, he did well to drive the ball forward at times and play out some passes from the back.
Inigo Martinez: 7.0
Held the backline well and contained Leganes throughout the game while snuffing out any chances they created. Unfortunately, the man who scored the only goal of the game was not his during that corner and it was simply unluckily for the Spaniard.
Alejandro Balde: 6.5
Full of energy and constantly ran up and down the pitch on the left flank. Created chances and also defended with everything he had to offer.
Marc Casado: 7.0
The young Spaniard did his best to minimize the danger from Leganes as much as possible and put his heart and body on the line as well. However, his efforts would end up not doing much for Barcelona to come out of this game with something too worthwhile.
Pedri: 7.5
Pedri never seemed to care about the distance he had to cover or the kind of efforts he had to make in this game. The Spaniard was individually brilliant and he was constantly let down by his teammates and it felt like it was him alone trying to make things happen for the team.
Lamine Yamal: 6.5
An early tackle from a Leganes defender left the young Barcelona winger limping and clearly struggling. However, he continued to play through the pain and managed to create some chances for his teammates. Unlike two other Barça forwards, both of whom are older than him, he at least showed character.
Dani Olmo: 4.0
Atrocious first half from the Spaniard. It felt like Dani Olmo had forgotten that he was supposed to be a key player for one of the biggest clubs in the world with the way he was playing. Bad touches, poor passes, unable to connect with shots and much more went wrong for him.
Raphinha: 7.0
Alongside Lamine Yamal, he was the only forward who seemed to be willing to make the effort to get Barcelona back into this game. In what should have been a game where the Catalan giants were considered as favorites, the Brazilian forward seemed to be one of the only players on the field working like an underdog.
Robert Lewandowski: 3.0
Frustrating to watch and extremely wasteful, Robert Lewandowski had so many chances in the first half to grab a goal. Unfortunately, it seems like he no longer remembers how to finish chances. His second half, similarly, was just as bad. One of his worst displays this season.
Ferran Torres: 6.0
Came on for Robert Lewandowski but failed to do much. Created a brilliant chance for Jules Kounde that the Frenchman could not convert, however.
Fermin Lopez: 5.5
Was energetic but unfortunately could not do much.
