There is always a slight chance for Leicester of something incredible happening at the end of each Premier League campaign. Between a side getting on a hot streak or another just completely falling apart, table movement is always possible. Even with some LCFC fans holding out the ever-slightest hopes of staying up, there isn't at all a likely possibility of that happening.

Relegation appears to be a reality for the club again, and the Championship campaign to earn an EPL place again will be the focus for 2025-2026. The Foxes will try to salvage some aspect of the season late, but this is too much for the current side to overcome. Results are possible earlier, or at least better performances, but points now would be too little too late.

As mentioned, there is always the ever-slightest of chances that Ruud van Nistelrooy is able to keep his side in the top flight of English competition, but even OptaSTATS only has it at a 0.5% chance of occurring. Even that at this stage seems too high.

There is plenty of blame to go around at Seagrave and King Power. RvN hasn't helped his case, however, after a slew of poor performances. It's possible that he stays on as manager, but that only speaks to what would be considered an entirely losing situation that no one would have been able to salvage.

Doomed Leicester season

Still, even after accepting the role midway through the season, it's fair to say that City supporters expected more from the Dutchman. It's unknown who will be a part of the club moving forward or if anything positive can come in the closing months of the campaign.
