Legendary former Nerazzurr President Massimo Moratti feels that the current Inter Milan team can win the Treble.
Moratti gave his thoughts in today’s print edition of Milan-based newspaper Gazzetta dello Sport, via FCInterNews.
Right now, Inter are alive in all of the Serie A title race, the Coppa Italia, an the Champions League.
In the league, the Nerazzurri are just a point behind Napoli at the top of the table at the start of this weekend. They face Juventus tomorrow, while the Partenopei take on Lazio this evening.
Meanwhile, Inter will face Lazio in the Coppa Italia quarterfinals later this month.
And in the Champions League, the Nerazzurri will soon learn their round of sixteen opponents. It could be one of AC Milan, Juventus, Feyenoord, or PSV.
Former Inter President Massimo Moratti was at the helm when the Nerazzurri won the Treble of the Serie A title, the Coppa Italia, and the Champions League in the 2009-10 season.
To date, that is the only time that a club from Italy has done so.

And Moratti said that “of course” the Current Inter team can repeat that feat.
“However, in the Champions League once you get to the knockouts, unique factors come into play.”
Massimo Moratti argued that “You have to get to the few matches that decide everything.”
“In 2009-10, we had been on the verge of elimination already in the group stage,” the former Inter President recalled.
“But then we turned it all around in stoppage time in Kyiv with goals from Sneijder and Milito.”
Meanwhile, as far as the Serie A title race, Moratti argued that “Inter have the deepest and most complete squad.”
Moratti also commented on the possibility that Inter could potentially face AC Milan in two-legged Coppa Italia and Champions League ties this season.
The Nerazzurri and the Rossoneri have already met twice in the league this season, and also in the Supercoppa Italiana final.
And Moratti admitted that “There’s a risk that we’ll have so many derbies that in the end they won’t feel as special.”
