Arrigo Sacchi feels that Inter Milan are “fun to watch” now, and that their elimination from the Champions League was a “shame.”

The legendary former AC Milan coach gave his thoughts on the Nerazzurri while speaking at the launch of his book “The Visionary Realist” via FCInterNews.

Sacchi has often been one of the biggest critics of Inter’s style of play under Simone Inzaghi.

The former Italy coach has a reputation for demanding not just results, but also a particular style of play from teams – high pressing, intricate routines in possession.

And that has certainly been evident in Sacchi’s response to Inzaghi’s Inter as a pundit.

The former Milan coach has argued that the Nerazzurri are overly reliant on individual quality. And on a counterattacking style that exploits opposition mistakes rather than being proactive.

However, in the last year or so, Sacchi has begun to be won over by Inzaghi’s Inter.

And the famous former coach now readily admits that the Nerazzurri are a team who he enjoys seeing play under Inzaghi.

Sacchi: “Inter Fun To Watch Under Inzaghi, Shame About Champions League”

Former Milan coach Sacchi commented that “Simone Inzaghi is starting to change.”

“He’s always been a great guy. Modest, which is something that matters.”

“Now, it’s fun to watch the way that Inter play,” the former coach continued.

“It’s a shame about the Champions League,” he added. “But now they have to keep going the way they have been.”

Sacchi outlined his own vision for coaching, saying that “A strategist is someone who has a plan and knows how to arrive at it.”

“A tactician is someone who waits for the opponent to make a mistake.”

He also argued that current AC Milan coach Stefano Pioli “Is trying to be a strategist. That’s what he’s working towards.”
