Lazio left-back Nuno Tavares continues to pique the interest of Premier League clubs, with Leeds United and West Ham United emerging as his most keen suitors. The 25-year-old has recently completed a permanent transfer to the Biancocelesti after spending the previous campaign on loan from Arsenal.

A Season of Two Halves

The Portuguese encountered never-ending physical problems during the second half of the season, but his exceptional exploits in his first few months at the club had won him the adoration of the Lazio supporters, as well as the esteem of several clubs around Europe and beyond. The full-back delivered nine assists in his 30 appearances across all competitions.

Leeds & West Ham Want Nuno Tavares

According to Calciomercato.it, Leeds and West Ham are keeping close tabs on Tavares, as they hope to lure the former Arsenal and Nottingham Forest player back to the English shores. The source adds that Lazio have set their price tag at €20-25 million, making the player an affordable option for Premier League clubs.

However, it should be noted that Lazio president Claudio Lotito had already turned down an offer from Al-Hilal in the region of €30 million. Hence, the reported asking price might not be too accurate. Moreover, Arsenal have a 40% sell-on fee inserted in their favour, which significantly limits the Aquile’s profit.

Lazio Can’t Replace Nuno Tavares This Summer

Finally, it must be mentioned that Lazio wouldn’t be able to immediately replace Tavares due to the transfer ban imposed by COVISOC which will prevent them from signing any new players throughout the summer.
