Leeds could secure Roma striker Artem Dovbyk for a significantly reduced fee this summer, according to Corriere dello Sport.

While Roma initially valued the 28-year-old Ukrainian at around £34.5 million, Leeds may now have the opportunity to sign him for as little as £26m, following a revised valuation by the Serie A club.

Dovbyk, who joined Roma from Girona last summer for approximately €38.5m, had previously impressed in LaLiga, scoring 24 goals in 36 appearances.

He found the net 17 times in all competitions for Roma last term but is said to have fallen out of favour under new manager Gian Piero Gasperini, making him a likely candidate to be moved on.

Leeds have strong motivation to act quickly with doubts over Patrick Bamford’s future, Matteo Joseph still developing, and Lukas Nmecha unlikely to carry the scoring burden alone.

Coach Daniel Farke is keen to reinforce his attacking options ahead of the club’s return to the Premier League and apparently sees Dovbyk is a perfect option.

It’s believed that Leeds have already made contact with Dovbyk’s representatives regarding a potential move. Should negotiations progress, they may be in a position to capitalise on Roma’s readiness to accept a lower fee, especially if Gasperini confirms that Dovbyk is surplus to requirements.

Other clubs are also reportedly monitoring the situation, including West Ham United and Turkish side Besiktas, but Roma appear open to bids starting around the £26m mark. For Leeds, that would represent an £8m discount on the striker’s previous valuation.

At 28, Dovbyk brings experience from top-flight football in both Spain and Italy. He is known for his physicality, finishing ability, and positional intelligence—traits that would suit Farke’s high-intensity, pressing style of play. His addition would strengthen Leeds’ attack considerably and help them avoid being dragged into a relegation battle.

If a deal can be agreed before the close of the transfer window, Dovbyk would likely become Leeds’ marquee signing and the most expensive arrival of their summer. At £26m, it could prove to be not just a necessary investment, but also a smart piece of business.
