A recently ‘leaked’ Manchester City home shirt for the 2025/26 season has been clarified as a ‘fake’ by a reputable football kit source.

The ongoing season brought about four different shirts for the players of Manchester City to don throughout the campaign, the first time in the club’s history that a fourth kit was introduced to the range.

Manchester City and their kit designers introduced a traditional sky blue home shirt with references to Greater Manchester’s 0161 area code, while the away shirt was a reference to the club’s iconic 1999 play-off final win over Gillingham.

A third kit brought back the iconic predominant base colour of maroon with gold detailing, with a fourth kit was part-designed by Oasis icon Noel Gallagher, in a tribute to the iconic Manchester band’s ‘Definitely Maybe’ album and its anniversary.

But as one season continues to rumble on with plenty of twists and turns still to come, leaks surrounding how Manchester City could look on the pitch next season in their new shirts have began to surface. Unfortunately, initial leaks have proven to be inaccurate.

That is as clarified by Footy Headlines this week, who confirm that a video shared across social media appearing to show Manchester City’s 2025/26 home kit is in fact a fake based on Footy Headlines’ own prediction released last year.

It is further clarified that the reigning Premier League champions’ 2025/26 home shirt will combine the club’s traditional sky blue base colour with a ‘tonal sash’ across the front of the shirt in a design that Footy Headlines say they hope to reveal ‘soon’.

It remains to be seen when Manchester City could first debut their new kit for next season, with other reports suggesting that Puma and the club’s kit designers have an intention to launch two special editions to be worn at the 2025 FIFA Club World Cup.

Pep Guardiola and his players are due to head to the United States in defence of their gold Club World Cup badges and the title they won back in 2023 following their first-ever UEFA Champions League win over Inter.

The reigning Premier League champions have already found out their challenges in the group stage of the competition, with meetings against Wydad AC of Morocco, Al-Ain of the UAE, and Italian giants Juventus scheduled.
