Lazio have recovered the services of Gaetano Castrovilli who has rejoined his teammates in training.
The 27-year-old signed for the Biancocelesti in the summer as a free agent after ending his collaboration with Fiorentina due to recurring injuries. Nevertheless, his stint in the Italian capital also began with a few physical problems, including an issue in his left meniscus which required surgical intervention.
But after a month on the sidelines, La Lazio Siamo Noi reveals that Castrovilli is once again training with the group. The Euro 2020 winner is considered medically healed, but still has to regain his physical condition to be considered for a playing role. Hence, he should start on the bench in the Coppa Italia encounter against Napoli on Thursday.
On the other hand, Boulaye Dia has yet to resume training. The Senegalese sprained his ankle during last Thursday’s Europa League draw against Ludogorets. Therefore, the 28-year-old skipped last weekend’s Serie A contest against Parma, and will require a late athletic test in order to prove his fitness for the upcoming cup tie. The next few hours will thus be decisive on this front.
On the other hand, Nuno Tavares and Matias Vecino are unlikely to recover for the mid-week clash. The Portuguese left-back is targetting a return for the ensuing Serie A contest against Napoli, while the Uruguayan midfielder could remain on the sidelines for another ten days after suffering a muscle problem last week.
