Lazio remain optimistic about their chances of finalizing an agreement with Empoli for the transfer of Jacopo Fazzini.
The Biancocelesti are eager to add a new midfielder to their ranks in January and have set their sights on several young profiles who can be registered on the U22 list since the senior squad is already congested. In recent days, Fazzini has emerged as the favourite for the role, but Lazio are still working on finding an agreement with the Tuscan club.
The Italian capital side is reportedly looking to sign the 21-year-old on an 18-month loan deal with an obligation to buy for a package worth €11-12 million, while Empoli are holding out for figures closer to €15M.

The newspaper also reveals that the rumored competition from Napoli isn’t a source of concern, as it remains nothing more than a mere nuisance for Lazio who remain the favorites to land the Italy U21 starlet.
Claudio Lotito and Co. have already presented their opening bid for Empoli, but another round of negotiations is expected to take place after the Derby della Capitale, and it remains to be seen if it would prove decisive.
Meanwhile, Cesare Casadei is still the alternative choice, but between the strong competition and Chelsea’s requests, it remains a complicated operation…
