While Barcelona’s success this season has been phenomenal so far, what makes it more impressive is how the team has been doing it with several first-choice players injured.
The injury list was shortened last month when the likes of Frenkie de Jong, Gavi, Fermin Lopez and Dani Olmo returned to action but has once again widened with the addition of the likes of Lamine Yamal and Robert Lewandowski.
Barça Universal brings you an overview of all ten of Barcelona’s injured stars and their projected date of return, as relayed by Javi Miguel.
Yamal’s absence against Real Sociedad is largely seen as the reason Barcelona dropped points at Reale Arena as the youngster did not enter the squad with a ‘contusion’ he suffered against Crvena Zvezda.
The 17-year-old subsequently did not travel to link up with the Spanish national team and is working hard to return at the earliest. He is expected to feature against Celta Vigo after the international break, albeit as a substitute.
Just like Yamal, Lewandowski’s injury forced him to pull out of the national team dynamics as he suffered a lower back injury.
The Polish international, however, is further forward in his recovery and could well start the game against Celta Vigo in what comes as a massive boost for Hansi Flick’s plans.
The 23-year-old has been out of action since Barcelona’s 3-0 win over Alaves early in October and has been dealing with pubalgia.
He was initially expected to make it in time to play before the international break but did not meet the deadline. Nevertheless, the two-week hiatus only gives him more time to hone his fitness and he is expected to be fit to face Celta Vigo in any capacity required.
Barcelona’s young defender pulled out of the Spanish Under-19 team dynamics after feeling discomfort in his back and his minor setback is progressing well towards recovery.
Like Garcia, Fort will thus be fit to play against Celta Vigo if the manager requires him to fill in either as a starter or as a substitute.

As revealed yesterday, Ferran Torres turned up at the club facilities even on the day off to further his recovery and push for a quick return to action.
He has been out of action since Barcelona’s game against Alaves at Mendizorozza and the club later confirmed his injury to be to the biceps femoris muscle.
There is optimism that the winger may make it in time to face Celta Vigo, but a more realistic target is to see the player in action against Brest in the UEFA Champions League or Las Palmas in La Liga.
Ronald Araujo is yet to feature for Barcelona this season after he suffered a setback in Copa America and required surgery for a complete recovery.
The Uruguayan star is now in the final phase of his recovery and closer than ever before to featuring under Hansi Flick for the first time. As it stands, fans can hope to see him on the field against either Mallorca or Real Betis next month.
Ansu Fati’s latest injury is a massive blow to the player as it arrived just when it appeared that the forward may improve his prominence under Flick.
The youngster simply cannot catch a break with setbacks and his latest fitness problem which occurred earlier this week means he will likely be out of action for a month.
Fati may thus feature next for Barcelona only against Leganes in mid-December after the big game against Borussia Dortmund.

Like Araujo, Christensen is yet to debut for Barcelona this season and is inching closer to a return, albeit at a slower rate than his Uruguayan counterpart.
The Danish international is unlikely to return this year but will be available as early as January in 2025 and his return will bring much-needed depth to both defence and the defensive midfield.
Barcelona’s first-choice goalkeeper suffered a horrific knee injury against Villarreal in September and ruptured his patellar tendon, thus requiring surgery.
The German star will not return this season and is only expected to be back in action in July 2025, thus aiming for a place in next term’s pre-season campaign.
Marc Bernal suffered a cruciate ligament rupture early in the season and his setback closed the curtains of his participation this term.
Having undergone surgery, he has successfully completed the first phase of his recovery and is working to return to complete fitness. He will not feature, however, until September 2025 to ensure a complete recovery.
