MLS picks back up with more mid-week action tonight, and a couple of big teams are involved.
Here is what went down New England and Los Angeles!
Scorers: Bouanga (P) 42', Ordaz 48', Dilrosun 59'
LAFC cruised to a win over Colorado to get themselves back into the win column after a disappointing Club World Cup campaign.
After Colorado went down to 10-men in the opening few minutes when Jackson Sims Travis was sent off, it was smooth sailing for the Black and Gold from there.
While it took Denis Bouanga to open the scoring from the penalty-spot, Nathan Ordaz and new signing Javairô Dilrosun extended the lead to put the hosts in cruise control.
LAFC move back into the top-six in the West with the points, but they hold two or three games in hand on the majority of the teams ahead of them.
Scorers: Gil 79' ; Messi 27', 38'
A Leo Messi brace saw Inter Miami ease past New England Revolution as they continue to creep up the Eastern Conference table.
The Argentine scored twice in 11 minutes, becoming the first player in MLS history to score multiple goals in four straight games, and the Herons looked set to go into cruise control from there.
However, the shaky Inter Miami rearguard always gives you chances, and Carles Gil pulled the hosts to within one in the final 10 minutes after knocking on the door for some time.
But it was merely consolation as the visitors held on to see out the result and win a fourth straight game in MLS.
Miami now sit just three points outside of the top-four with three games in hand in Eastern Conference after falling out of the picture in the spring.
