Kylian Mbappé’s entourage ‘certain’ that Real Madrid forward is suspect in Swedish rape investigation | OneFootball

According to RMC Sport, Kylian Mbappé’s (25) entourage are now certain that the Real Madrid forward is a suspect in an ongoing rape investigation in Sweden.

The alleged rape took place in the hotel in which Mbappé was staying, on 10th October. The France captain, controversially omitted from Didier Deschamps’ squad for the recently concluded international break, was on a short holiday in Stockholm. As reported by local media, he dined in a restaurant and then went to a nightclub on the night in question.

The Swedish prosecutor confirmed that a rape investigation was ongoing, although Mbappé was not named. A report from Swedish media Expressen did, however, implicate the Real Madrid forward. Responding to the AFP at the time of the emergence of the report, on Monday evening, the Real Madrid forward’s entourage stated that they were unaware that he was the subject of any enquiry.

His legal representatives went on national television in France on Tuesday night to defend their client. “He’s done nothing wrong,” his lawyer, Canu Bernard, told TF1.

However, RMC Sport now reports that Mbappé’s entourage are “now certain” that the former AS Monaco and Paris Saint-Germain forward is the subject of the investigation. The report adds that his entourage is “calm” about the situation, however, they are aware that the process may be long, tiresome and ultimately harmful to Mbappé’s image.
